The 9 Month Makeover
Not everyone desires or needs “perfectly” aligned teeth. For some people a great improvement is good enough. For others, cost can be a big factor in their decision to go through with “comprehensive” orthodontic treatment.
For those people we offer The 9 Month Makeover. This service is for those who desire a dramatic change in the appearance of their teeth but are not committed to an ideal alignment or bite result. Put simply, the braces will be removed 9 months following their placement. You will know the exact date of the big day and can plan accordingly.
Why 9 months?
Most or our patients start getting “antsy” to get their braces off around the 9 month mark of their treatment. We feel this is due to the dramatic changes that have taken place up to that point. While most patients have a significant amount of work left in their treatment, we thought this may be a point to conclude some patient’s treatment.
What if I want to continue treatment?
Of course, if you wish to continue your treatment with us and improve the result we’d be happy to make arrangements to do so. We would simply leave the braces on and Dr. Nuveen could give you an estimate of how much time would remain in your orthodontic care.
Fine Print
There are some disadvantages to leaving the bite slightly uncorrected and not everyone is a candidate for this type of orthodontic treatment.
