Indirect Bonding
While the vast majority of orthodontists place the braces on the patient’s teeth directly, we prefer the accuracy and speed of indirect bonding. The steps of indirect bonding are listed below.
- Braces are placed on a plaster model of the patient’s teeth.
- Transfer trays are fabricated that hold all the braces to be placed.
- The teeth are prepared and the upper and lower braces can be placed in one, quick appointment.
- The trays are removed and the braces stay attached to the teeth and wires are placed.
