Soft-Tissue Laser
Technically, the word “LASER” is and acronym for “Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation.” A laser is simply a single wavelength (or color) of light traveling through a collimated tube delivering a concentrated source of energy. The laser we use is called the EZLase.
Soft-tissue lasers have numerous applications in orthodontics, including gingivectomy, frenectomy, operculectomy, papilla flattening, uncovering temporary anchorage devices, ablation of aphthous ulcerations, exposure of impacted teeth, and even tooth whitening. New and exciting uses for the laser in orthodontics are constantly being introduced.
Below are selected videos showing the magic of the soft-tissue laser in orthodontics.
